Jersey City hardcore darkwave pioneers Neon Funeral ensnare their listeners with classic melodies of 80’s synth-wave mixed with the unhinged, visceral vocal stylings of death metal. It’s an interesting juxtaposition of styles, based on electronica with dynamic guitar and basslines. This is continued with their cryptic new single, “A Void.” With this offering, Neon Funeral brings something truly unique to the alternative scene.
“A Void can be part of any club playlist and their power has no limits: a sound explosion to dance and tear with its irresistible melody,” says the band.
The video, directed by the band, blends backyard performance with cheeky references to silent film title cards and a nod to fire ritual: it is illustrated with mystery with strange masks, capturing a element of pagan intrigue. Watch below:
This marks the band’s second release through Cleopatra Records, following 2021′ s cover of “Party All the Time.”
