Update: Morrissey makes first Tweet “Spent the Day in Bed…”

“Spent the day in bed…”

Verified with a blue checkmark—Morrissey’s Twitter account is now live @officialmoz is now live having appeared over the weekend with the first official Tweet today being exactly what you would expect from the melancholic Mancunian, as to be his witting way of saying the account is legit.

So it would initially seem that this were wit alone—however, Spent the Day in Bed is in fact the album’s first single for his upcoming album, Low In High School, which is out November 17th:

As noted by Spin, it did seem unlikely at first that the Twitter account was legit at first, because back in 2014, leading up the the release of of World Peace is None Of Your Business, a similar Twitter account was created, but the former Smiths singer shot down its authenticity in a Rolling Stone interview stating:

“I do not know who has opened this recent Twitter account, but please be aware that it is bogus,”  Morrissey then went on to say with his trademark biting wit. “That’s, of course, if you should remotely care.”

Morrissey is playing 2 nights at the Hollywood Bowl on November 10th and 1tth. Expect more tour dates to be announced shortly.

The Morrissey Biopic England is Mine is currently in Theatres.

England is Mine features  actress Jessica Brown Findlay as Linder Sterling, Morrissey’s longtime friend, who recently posted and then deleted Morrissey’s new album Low and High Schools’ cover art via her instagram.
