The documentary film Industrial Accident: The Story of Wax Trax! Records, along with its soundtrack will finally see its release on DVD in April of 2019.
The 90 documentary chronically one most important institutions Industrial Music— the Wax Trax! Records shop and record label.
The doc features interviews with Steve Albini, Jello Biafra, Chris Connelly, Cosey Fanni Tutti, Dave Grohl, Al Jourgensen, Ian MacKaye, Trent Reznor and many more.
To celebrate the documentary’s release, the film will hitting the road for a six-date “Wax Trax! Experience” tour co-presented by House of Vans and Record Store Day.
Along with a screening of the film will be a special performance by Ministry who promise to play a “Wax Trax! era, early 90’s set”, stopping at 1992’s Psalm 69.
Cold Cave will be opening during all dates.
Every screening of the Wax Trax! Documentary has been packed with panelists associated with the labels history, and this tour is no exception.
Post-screening Q&A’s will feature Paul Barker (Ministry, Revolting Cocks, Pigface), Chris Connelly (Ministry, Revolting Cocks, KMFDM), documentary director Julia Nash, Rick Wojcik (Dusty Groove Records owner), and Record Store Day’s Carrie Colton.
(Some surprises may be in store for Ministry’s live set, given that former members are part of the panel.)
The tour begins on April 13th for Chicago on Record Store Day continuing in Brooklyn on the 15th, before heading to Toronto on the 17th, Austin on the 19th, San Francisco on the 22nd, and Los Angeles on the 23rd.
All shows will be free and tickets will be given out at local independent record stores on Record Store Day. Venues TBA.
The soundtrack for the doc will be a Record Store Day release issued on several different vinyl editions which include a 40 page booklet, and ten “unreleased, out-of-print and classic songs” by Ministry, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, Revolting Cocks, The Young Gods and more.
