‘MG’ – Martin Gore’s New Electronic Project

[dropcap]M[/dropcap]artin Gore, the mastermind behind most of Depeche Mode’s vast and impressive catalogue, has announced his new electronic project that will be released by Mute Records on April 27th.  Aptly titled ‘MG’, the 16-song instrumental album is already available for pre-order here.  In conjunction with the release date comes the track “Europa Hymn” via the Mute Soundcloud.  Upon first listening, I was expecting something along the lines of the Gore/Vince Clark electronic collaboration VCMG.  “Europa Hymn” is instead a beautiful, laid-back track reminiscent of the short instrumental phrases Depeche Mode used in albums such as Violator in 1990.  You can listen below:
