Lucy Kruger and The Lost Boys have spun a nightmare into a lullaby with their spellbinding live performance of “Mary” last year at Endless Daze Festival, the annual psychedelic music festival that takes place alongside the ocean in the Western Cape, South Africa.
“Mary” is one of the songs off Lucy’s upcoming LP, Sleeping Tapes for Some Girls and reveals frustration at the inability to come undone.
In this version, Lucy performs with the original Lost Boys, Lucas Swart, Andre Leo, Calvin Siderin and Werner von Waltsleben. Her closest friends and musical collaborators help to bring a difficult feeling to life—a steady, sonic surrender, an attempt at catharsis.

The video was filmed by close collaborator Barry De Villiers of Roundabout Films and the sound was mixed by Warren Fisher. It forms part of a film created about the festival and includes performances by A Place to Bury Strangers, Dead Meadow, Nonn, Morena Leraba, Candice Gordon, Msaki, Julia Robert and many more.
