Los Angeles synthpop outfit CD Ghost has unveiled the video for their new single, “Nowhere,” from their forthcoming LP Night Music, due out on the 11th of November 2022 (via Born Losers Records). Written during a pandemic while the duo was split between L.A. and Beijing, the project reflects on solitude, change, and the passage of time.
The effervescent track, reminiscent of early MGMT and psychedelic-era Horrors, is beautifully acted out in Troy Lustick’s video. The world of “Nowhere” becomes a dreamlike short film, evoking imagery from Dune, El Cid, a handful of early Anton Corbijn videos, and a mysterious clue-strewing puppet that looks suspiciously like Hunter S. Thompson. They’re on a desert quest – but is the real journey in the mind itself?

CD Ghost, comprised of Cody Han and Blake Dimas, produce dreamy and danceable surrealist synth-pop.
Night Music will be their first with Born Losers Records, expanding their dream pop palette toward the edges of dark wave, avant-pop, and shoegaze. The LP was conceived as an ode to the musical tradition of nocturnes – songs written about or for the night. Observe the changes of the moon as cool air begins to surround you, and you pass into the astral plane.
