Boy I’m looking for a fire
Can you really tell me you’re not missing us
I’m only asking for desire
Los Angeles synthpop trio Nuovo Testamento’s latest single, “Heat,” is a passionate synth-powered battle cry on behalf of all all our burning hearts. This high-energy anthem celebrates the power of vulnerability, knowing what you want, and accepting nothing less. The message is simple, but a bright light for those needing an energy boost. Get up and dance to this synthpop banger, a testament to “movement, connection, and autonomy.”
The video for “Heat,” directed by the band’s friend and frequent collaborator G.S.E.D of La Sombra Luminosa, is a jubilant dance sequence brought to us in glorious monochrome. A modern twist on German expressionism and a nod to New Jack Swing-era dance videos of the late 80s, it’s a sensual delight with several cameos from other LA scene stalwarts – a pattern for this director and a nod to the vibrancy of the modern LA nightlife scene. Frontwoman and vocalist Chelsey Crowley is spellbinding in the video.

Nuovo Testamento, which includes members of hardcore and dark punk royalty Tørsö, Horror Vacui, and Crimson Scarlet, have taken over dance floors with their uniquely dark Italo disco-flavored pop hits in just a few years. On March 3rd, they return with their highly anticipated second LP, Love Lines, on which Nuovo Testamento continues to explore the light, the dark, and exultant personal power in what will undoubtedly become an instant dance classic. Love Lines is an album about proof of life and the joy of survival, invoking kinesis out of stagnation with their rich synthesizers and driving percussion. Sound engineer Maurizio Baggio (Boy Harsher, The Soft Moon) came on board as producer.
Love Lines is out March 3rd via Discoteca Italia. It will be available on vinyl, limited to 2000 copies, including classic black, baby blue/baby pink (250 copies) and red/white (250 copies).
