Los Angeles Darkwavers Cold Cave Debuts New Single “Blackberries” Ahead of Tour Dates in Mexico and South America

Truth is a curse

Freedom is a clique

Drive across America

Beautiful and sick

Los Angeles darkwave outfit Cold Cave, steered by the enigmatic Wes Eisold and Amy Lee, have gifted the world another gem of shadowy elegance on the 15th of the month: the entrancing single Blackberries. This alchemical blend of poetic melancholy and pulsating rhythms assures us that the duo has many more darkened dancefloors to illuminate.

Blackberries is a seductive synth-pop offering, perfect for those who savor the bittersweet. The deep, resonant synth bass evokes echoes of New Order, while the haunting melody casts a spectral glow over the track. Wes Eisold’s vocals drift through the air like a ghost waltzing in an abandoned ballroom, weaving a darkly infectious spell.

“Now felt like the right time to release what we create as we create it,” says the band. “Sometimes touring takes center stage and we miss the thrill of creativity.”

Listen to “Blackberries” below:

Since their inception in 2007, Cold Cave has consistently carved their own path through the underground music scene. They blend the finest elements of post-punk, darkwave, and synth-pop, building a formidable discography of singles, LPs, EPs, and compilations. Their unwavering dedication led them to reissue landmark albums such as Cremations, Love Comes Close, Cherish The Light Years, Full Cold Moon, and Fate In Seven Lessons on luxurious 180-gram vinyl via Heartworm Press, reaffirming their legacy while cementing their place at the forefront of the genre.

After a whirlwind year supporting Depeche Mode and The Cult, and headlining major festivals like Tomorrow’s Ghost in the UK, Wave Gotik in Germany, and Grauzone in the Netherlands, Cold Cave looks towards new horizons in 2024. They embark on their first South American tour, bringing their hauntingly unique sound to Brazil, Peru, Chile, Costa Rica, and returning to Mexico City and Guadalajara. The journey promises to be a thrilling expansion of their hauntingly unique sound to new audiences.
