Los Angeles Darkwave Artist Mareux Debuts New Single “Little Lies”

As Mareux, Los Angeles musician and producer Aryan Ashtiani makes music filled with stories of unrequited yearning and the ghosts of romances’ whose memory haunts both dreams and waking hours. Now he reveals his latest single, “Little Lies,” taken from the appropriately titled forthcoming upcoming album, “Lovers From The Past,” slated for release on May 5th, 2023, courtesy of Warner Records/Revolution Records.

Recently, Mareux has emerged as a figurehead for the latest resurgence of goth music, igniting a fresh wave of interest in post-punk and darkwave among the newest generation of alternative music enthusiasts. His mission is clear: “I want to be the conduit that introduces younger audiences to older subcultural genres.”

“Little Lies” layers an array of neon keys atop a head-nodding bassline, with an icy production that surges through the speakers. The hypnotic melody that accompanies his declaration is a tour-de-force: merging sultry, sinister vocals, a pounding bassline, and a disconcerting aura to create an unforgettable after-dark anthem. It’s a haunting refrain of torment: the atmosphere is pure film noir, where the bar is the only solace and a few too many drinks are the only remedy.

Mareux’s deep intonation bellows and beckons, weaving an enthralling, captivating tale that demands closer scrutiny. This track showcases the eccentricities of Mareux’s cavernous sonic spectrum, inviting us to unravel the mystery that lies within. Who knows? “Little Lies” might just contain a greater truth…

Lovers From The Past is a collection of sinister, magnetic tracks that explore heartbreak and disillusionment. In support of the album, Mareux will launch an extensive headlining global tour, kicking off in May following Mareux’s performances at Coachella. Mareux will make stops in Brooklyn, Los Angeles, Chicago, London, Warsaw, Berlin, and more.
