Los Angeles Dark Rock Outfit The Tracks Rev Up The Vintage in their Video for “Your Bike”

Taking it back a few decades, L.A. post-punk/garage rockers The Tracks have released a cinematic video for their new single, “Your Bike. Rife with 50s Elvis-style croons like Lux Interior of The Cramps, along with nightmarish guitar breaks, a searing No Wave sax solo, and a sinister, plodding bass line, “Your Bike” would be equally at home in both Lynchian dreamscapes and as an opening act for Gun Club circa 1980. Produced by Lewis Pesacov, the song (and album) embraces rawness, complexity, and a musical catharsis from modern reality.

The track comes off their much-anticipated sophomore album Paredón Blanco, out on Friday, July 29.

Watch Dylan Dixon’s moody, transcendent video for “Your Bike” below, a tribute to Jerardo Huitzil.

Frontman Venancio Bermudez, bassist Felipe Contreras, drummer Jimmy Conde and guitarist Juan Santana met at Roosevelt High School in Boyle Heights, where they united over their shared love of rock and roll. Their upcoming album Paredón Blanco is dedicated to the place where they grew up, and the music that raised them. Reclaiming a sound from which Chicanos have been historically excluded, The Tracks’  live shows aim to unify and empower an audience.

The band are hosting a release show for Paredón Blanco, Friday, July 29th, at La Zona Rosa (1010 E Cesar Chavez Ave in Boyle Heights (9 p.m., $15, 18+)
