London Post-Punk Artist Vincent Christ has a Dream Visitation in his Video for “I See Jets”

London-based artist Vincent Christ is making a name for himself penning irreverent songs informed by new wave, art-rock and post-punk, creating music in the same sphere as The Gun Club, The Wake, Sad Lovers & Giants, The Damned, and The Fall. His newest offering, “I See Jets,” was sparked by a ghostly dream cameo from a familiar figure.

“I wrote the song after a dream I had about Alan Vega from Suicide,” he says. “In the dream we were walking to a Mediterranean town down a long, winding hillside. Everything was orange and sunbaked. We talked as we walked and stopped to watch a game of basketball. I think we were walking to somewhere where we were supposed to perform later on, but we never got there. There was a heavy sense of paranoia in the dream. That feeling, as well as some of the things Alan said, inspired the lyrics and set the tone for this track.”

The video was filmed by Patrick Lyons on a vintage super 8 camera at a historic estate in the North of England, featuring a manor house and a conservatory garden. Itself dreamlike and strange, the video serves as a link between Vincent Christ’s subconscious and the glorious landscapes of Albion; a spirit house for contemplation and communion across the veil. (The imagery, in a wonderful synchronicity, brings to mind a classic video of Frank Tovey in a similar setting and hat…perhaps Vincent Christ’s next dream visitor?)

‘I See Jets’ is a stand-alone single following the Kil St. Clare EP released on August 4th.
