Celebrating the connection of spirit and heritage, Miami-based musician Klime Kovaceski announces a gorgeous, expansive new album featuring artists from around the globe, entitled WOUNDS. Kovaceski Music is an international collective that showcases artists’ innate, raw talent while striking unique collaborations and partnerships.
With nods to Dead Can Dance, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Tuxedomoon, Loreena McKennitt, Vangelis, and The Divine Comedy, each elegant single showcases powerful artistry and musicality met with deep, meaningful vocals, marrying strong lyrics and stirring orchestration. WOUNDS sets itself apart as a truly international album: instead of creating an album within the walls of one studio, Kovaceski Music’s latest project spanned the world to partner with artists who recorded on-site….and the entire album is sung in Macedonian. Elements of klezmer, chamber pop, classical orchestra, and various forms of European classical traditions come together in this powerful collection. Although the words may be unfamiliar to those who don’t understand the Macedonian language, the emotions are universal…the music is universal…the humanity is universal.
“My music is a mosaic of musical ideas created in collaboration with several special guests,” says Kovaceski, whose own music is rooted in Macedonian culture and language, which gives authentic style and passionate musicality. “The musicians enjoyed the freedom to create without any specific instructions or limitations,” said Kovaceski. “Their talents are guided only by the spirit and nature of the songs on the album.”
Over seventeen collaborators appeared on the new album; a full listing can be seen at the Kovaceski Music website.
