Sydney’s formidable five-member force, Foxlore, ionizes the atmosphere with the pulsing anthem: “Electrified,” a gem from their latest album, Noisserped, released today. The track’s compelling, edgy rhythm showcases the immense depth and dynamism that Foxlore brings to the table.

Foxlore’s lyrics for Electrified evoke a narrative of relentless pursuit and a craving for connection, intensified by dark undertones of entrapment and submission. The repeated requests for proximity and consistency are juxtaposed with imagery suggesting both vulnerability and self-infliction. There’s a sense of enthrallment with technology or external forces, exemplified by turning knobs and shining lights. The protagonist’s resilience shines through, enduring continuous testing and finding strength, even as they recall experiments from years past.  The pulsating chorus “Electrify my body” encapsulates a desire for intense sensation, perhaps yearning for feeling amidst numbness or an overwhelming external world. However, by the end, the need for escape becomes evident, hinting at a tumultuous dance between surrender and resistance.

The video captivates as powerfully as the song it frames, providing a visual spectacle that oscillates between the mysterious and the surreal. The dominant red tinge pulls us into a labyrinth of haunting scenes: glimpses of graveyards, unsettling corridors, an unborn child miming lyrics, and the undead amidst corrugate shacks in a junkyard. At its core, it paints the continuum of karma, illustrating life’s journey from womb to tomb.

Tempe River Studio served as the launchpad where Foxlore and Tim Kevin wove their creative threads together. “Noisserped” as a whole plunges headfirst into the intricate dance of the human soul, baring the visceral pangs of love, the weight of loss, and the ceaseless search for purpose in a sometimes shadowy world. Its tracks pivot from hushed, heartfelt melodies to rousing refrains, sculpting “Noisserped” into a chronicle that speaks both to individual souls and the collective heart.

“The album is an exploration of the depths of the human experience, touching on themes of love, loss, and the struggle to find meaning in a world that often seems bleak and unforgiving. With songs that range from introspective to anthemic, “Noisserped” is both deeply personal and universally relatable,” says the band.

The titular single Noisserped delves into an emotional tumult marked by fear, longing, and a desperate quest for connection. Facing both internal and external darkness, the protagonist seeks genuine connection, but encounters only transient and painful interactions, leading to profound loneliness. Through this poignant juxtaposition of despair and hope, the song explores the universal human journey of seeking comfort amidst the chaos of existence.  Dance In The Air embodies a powerful invitation to embrace both the highs and lows of a relationship, reflecting a yearning for rebirth and renewed connection. The act of dancing becomes a symbol for navigating these emotions, a kind of cathartic release, perhaps hinting at transcending challenges and finding unity in the midst of adversity.

The lyrics to Spider showcase life’s struggles through an arachnid’s weaving challenges and a homeless man’s isolation, symbolizing the hardships and unfulfilled aspirations many face. Amidst these tales, the singer confesses their own unmet goals and persistent failures, capturing the universal journey of striving and often falling short. Fools of Love, a driving, angular blend of punk, new wave, and indie influences, firmly rooted in 90s inspiration. Its zippy synths and an anthemic chorus from Troy, Selene, Serena, Brendan, and Chase drew inspiration from the jauntiness of The Lightning Seeds and the wistful strains of The Sundays.

The Man is about someone adept at deception. While others are often misled by his façade, the repeated refrains emphasize his inauthenticity. Ultimately, he’s portrayed as a tragic figure, deceiving not just others but also himself, leading to profound emptiness. Faces In Your Head makes observations of the ephemeral nature of memories. A postman speeds through a desolate city, questioning the purpose of his deliveries. A child addresses their aging father, reminiscing about past familial moments and pondering their worth.

In Be Silent, we are taken on a journey from despair to hope, emphasizing rebirth and second chances. Shadows and dreamlands symbolize guidance and escape from suffering. By confronting mortality and letting go of the past, the song underscores the chance for renewal.  Me and You depicts a deep, unbreakable bond between two people, emphasized by their united stance against external challenges. While facing doubts, their connection remains unwavering. Finally with Spirit, the band reflects on humanity’s shared experiences and the divisions theat still persist. Even with shared skies and similarities, past actions and prejudices have distanced people, as societal divisions and betrayals persist.
