Following the debut of their video for Indie Brutalo-Pop reverie “On a Greater Scale”, Nietzschean post-punk act XTR Human returns with the ardent anthem “Masks Of Faith”, the second single of the forthcoming new album INTERIOR.
The music is complex, harkening the to the lush sonic wall of sound of Phil Spector’s work revived by post-punk shoegazers The Jesus and Mary Chain, and bolstered with soaring narrative structure, weeping guitars, and a dreamlike synth organ that yields to a breaking thundercloud.
The song’s lyrical themes, as the band describes, is inspired by the scandalous American TV preacher Jimmy Swaggart but also is connected to the mendacity of modern populists the lyrics are laid out as an internal monologue.
Swaggart sees humanity close to damnation and feels a divine sense of mission to redeem humanity by denouncing sins, but his own moral inability makes him break apart more and more. Most of all he seeks salvation. The chorus serves as a breakdown to bring the cleansing storm.

Interior will be issued as a coop release between NO EMB BLANC and Blackjack Illuminist Records on April 24th, 2020.
