Listen to Austin Darkwave Act Haunt Me’s “Watch You Bleed”

“There was a time when I wanted your love,

There was a time when I wanted your disease”

No time like Venus Retrograde for a song about regret, fury, and revenge. Austin, Texas outfit Haunt Me stumbles out of the darkness with an extremely troubling confession in the mesmerizing “Watch You Bleed”. It’s time for retribution for those who have done wrong. It’s time to reap what has been sown.  The lyrics are disturbing and teeter on deranged – and yet, although the song seethes, there is a sexiness to the track; a tranquil seduction. The calm before the storm.

Watch You Bleed is sexy and seductive while at the same time being haunting, driving, and broody,” says vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Darius Davila, the mastermind behind the project. “We wanted to start off 2022 with a bang and we think the release of this single is the perfect way to do that.”
With a growling croon backed by glistening synths, the three-piece embrace and channel the obscurity and sorrow of pandemic times by seamlessly fusing post-punk, darkwave, indie, and alternative. We hear elements of Joy Division, The Smiths, The Cure, Interpol, and She Wants Revenge.
