Following the premiere for the video for their track Self Loathing—Berlin-based post-punk band Bleib Modern are streaming with us their third studio album Antagonism—out on Third Coming Records (FR), Black Verb Records (DE) & Manic Depression (FR), on April 1st 2017.
The album’s opening track Gray Dawn sets an expressive and dark tone, follow by the single Self loathing—which has an intro riff that hooks the listener and follows through nicely. (also nice live). The next track Solace makes a nice followup to Self Loathing while Nothing also brings a more expressive intro. The slightly more minimal tone and vocals that expressively deliver the lyrics in a way that works really well through the entire LP.
Antagonism is a fitting name for the album with seemingly dark lyrics, mild aggression, and almost a feeling of despair at times. Opening and closing with different evocative feelings Bleib Modern have created a overall cohesive collection of music.
