Anglo-Swiss post-punk duo Lebanon Hanover – comprised of musicians Larissa Iceglass and William Maybelline – have officially announced an expansive tour across the United States and Canada for 2025 and 2026. The news coincides with confirmation that the pair will release a new studio album in summer 2025 via their longtime label Fabrika Records. This upcoming record will be the band’s seventh album, arriving five years after their last full-length effort, Sci-Fi Sky (2020). That critically acclaimed album featured notable singles like “The Last Thing” and “Digital Ocean”, which showcased Lebanon Hanover’s signature blend of icy post-punk melancholy and haunting melodyies.
Since Sci-Fi Sky, Lebanon Hanover have periodically teased fans with new material. In late 2023, they unveiled a double A-side single – “Better Than Going Under” backed with “Kyiv” – marking their first original songs since 2020. The duo also explored their influences through a couple of striking cover tracks: in March 2023 they released a chilling, minimalist cover of Depeche Mode’s “Strangelove” and in fall 2024 they dropped a Halloween-inspired rendition of “Abracadabra” (a dark twist on the Steve Miller Band hit) for a gothic compilation. These singles and covers have kept the darkwave flame burning for their followers while building anticipation for the forthcoming album.
Live appearances by Lebanon Hanover in North America have been notoriously rare over the past decade. It wasn’t until late 2023 that Lebanon Hanover finally made their long-awaited return to American soil, thanks in large part to the efforts of their booking agency Persona Grata. That brief 2023 tour, their first U.S. trek in ten years, saw the duo perform in select cities (including sold-out nights in Los Angeles) and effectively reintroduce themselves to their American audience. The success of those shows, which marked the band’s first stateside performances since the era of their 2013 album Tomb For Two and its underground anthem “Sadness Is Rebellion,” forged a renewed connection with Lebanon Hanover’s North American fanbase.
Buoyed by the enthusiasm from that triumphant return, Lebanon Hanover are now significantly expanding their North American presence. Persona Grata is presenting an extensive new tour that will span both the USA and Canada in 2025 and 2026, allowing fans across the continent a chance to experience the band’s melancholic, atmospheric live show. The tour is slated to kick off in October 2025 on the U.S. East Coast and Midwest, then continue with a second leg in spring 2026 focused on the West Coast and Southwest. Notably, the itinerary includes the duo’s first Canadian concerts in over a decade, with stops in Toronto and Montreal, as well as a Halloween weekend appearance at Chicago’s Sanctum Festival (a key gathering for dark music fans).
