Ladytron are back with their first new music in 7 years! The Liverpool synth quartet are finally following up 2011’s Gravity the Seducer LP with the debut of their fantastic track The Animals, off of a yet to be named sixth studio album due out later this year.
The melody of Animals is an infectious nihilistic fever dream awash in deep nostalgia with synths augmented by Marnie’s distinct vocals, sounding as fresh and mesmerizing as material from their albums Light & Magic and The Witching Hour.
Take a listen:
Ladytron previously had been on an extended hiatus—where in the interim singer Helen Marnie released two solo albums. The first was 2013’s Crystal World, which was issued via legendary Belgian imprint Les Disques Du Crépuscule, and featured remixes by Mark Reeder and Stephen Morris.
The second Strange Words and Weird Wars which was released in 2017, and featured the singles Alphabet Block, Lost Maps, and Electric Youth.
