A second LP is on the way from the Garaged infused Post-Punk and Cold-wave band Sextile
After weeks of intensive recording in Echo Park, LA-based astrologically-named trio Sextile are following up their debut LP A Thousand Hands with their sophomore effort Albeit Living. The album will be released on July 14th via felte.
The 10 song LP is a politically charged introspective and impassioned view of the world we are somewhat living in today—with influences rooted in the warm and distorted fuzz of The Jesus and Mary Chain catalytically combusting with the fervent bombast of PIL.
The album begins with One of These—which is “an intense tirade on addiction and the feelings frontman Brady Keehn experienced during his personal struggle with addiction and escapism.”
The band then goes on to describe the accompanying video as:
“‘One of These’ is a nonlinear video that uses shapes and distorted images inspired by the Albeit Living album artwork which hints at elements of Dadaism. The harsh contrasts within the footage was inspired by old German expressionist films as well.”
Sextile is doing a run of West Coast dates with ADULT. UK dates to follow.
