The haunting theme song of the film, Close To You, was crafted by dreamy synth-wave artist Kid Moxie, the alter ego of Greek-born, Los Angeles-based artist Elena Charbila. Her music, an alchemical blend of cinematic pop, synthwave, and electronic elements, weaves an atmospheric and dreamy backdrop for the film. The eerie melody and lush arrangement draw from her Greek roots and Californian experiences. Kid Moxie’s previous collaborations with Twin Peaks composer Angelo Badalamenti, electronic musician The Gaslamp Killer, and Depeche Mode find echoes in this ethereal composition, creating a perfect harmony with the film’s dark, evocative spirit.
The Unboxholics directed the video, casting Kid Moxie in a realm bathed in neon light, a place that exists between worlds. The cinematography, with its Neo-expressionist flair, transforms her performance into something otherworldly, infusing it with a Neo-noir atmosphere that both enchants and unsettles. This collaboration conjures an enigmatic space where reality blurs and the shadows come alive.

Bathed in the glow of cinematic pop, Kid Moxie stands unparalleled. A serendipitous encounter with a humble can of Moxie Cola ignited the flames of her musical ambition, giving life to her alter-ego, Kid Moxie. “Cinematic pop is my genre of choice,” she admits, and the vibrant cinematic hues woven into her melodies are impossible to overlook, each note painting a vivid picture in sound.
Kid Moxie’s musical virtuosity extends beyond collaborations; she has marked her aural signature by composing for the recently rebranded Orion/MGM Pictures logo, and delivering a score for Cannes laureate Vassilis Kekatos’ newest television venture, Milky Way. Her tracks have received significant international airplay and have been featured in indie films, hit TV shows, and international brand campaigns. She’s even contributed several tracks to the wildly popular video game sensation Cyberpunk 2077.
