Joy Division are set to commemorate the 40th anniversary of their critically acclaimed and fan-beloved debut LP Unknown Pleasures with “Unknown Pleasures: Reimagined”, a collaborative project that will see 10 directors create new music videos for every track on the record that was originally released on June 15th, 1979.
The first video is to be released this Thursday, and on Friday the 21st of June, YouTube will host a premiere event in London for a selection of these videos, featuring a panel between Stephen Morris, Matt Everitt, Orian Williams (producer of Control), Feargal Ward and Adrian Duncan.

This music video campaign follows the announcement of a 40th Anniversary reissue of Unknown Pleasures on vinyl, along with retailer Goodhood’s collaborative capsule collection celebrating through items that span apparel, homeware, and accessories, such as shoes, bag, pillows, lighters, phone cases and more.
The limited edition 40th anniversary version of Unknown Pleasures, out on June 14th, has been pressed on 180g ruby red vinyl with an alternative white sleeve resembling the original design idea, that was the black pulsar plotting on a white background.
