French band Jessica 93 have debuted an infectious hit with the first track R.I.P In Peace off of their upcoming 4th studio album Guilty Species. With a lyrical refrain that would be considered homophobic if taken out of context, it’s probably best if you if you don’t sing along—to cite the lyrics from Nirvana’s In Bloom:
He’s the one
Who like all our pretty songs
And he likes to sing along
And he likes to shoot his gun
But he don’t know what it means
And speaking of Kurt Cobain–the accompanying video for R.I.P In Peace suggests in a tongue in cheek fashion that the deceased singer/guitarist was the second coming of Christ—using a classic Youtube conspiracy theory slideshow.
Guilty Species is out on November 3rd via Teenage Menopause RDS and MUSICFEARSATAN
