Italian Synth-Pop Artist Castelli Debuts New Single “Festa” Featuring Luca Urbani

Castelli of Clone Culture unleashes a new atmospheric dark disco single for dancers and the nightlife: “Festa” (via Bordello a Parigi). A pandemic-era banger with lyrics by Castelli and frequent collaborator Luca Urbani, the dance track is a lamentation about the distance and the impossibility of reunion (and hugging) someone you love. At once invigorating and wistful, this arpeggio-stacked synth track with Castelli’s mournful vocals take a deep dive headfirst into the soul.

With sonic nods to MGMT, Ultravox, and John Foxx, it still brims with optimism in its message. Most noteworthy is the fact that “Festa” is sung in his native Italian, bringing forth an authenticity through language and easy expression. Language is transcended; we innately feel the emotions – no matter where we are on this spinning blue orb.

The release of  Castelli’s upcoming album is scheduled for Spring 2023 (vinyl and digital).

The eye-popping video, directed by Stefania Carbonara, bends time and shows how humanity never really changes: dancers from stock footage spanning the 1920s-40s revel in a kaleidoscopic, psychedelic world. It is hypnotic, exciting, and a thrilling new vision for Busby Berkeley’s classic synchronized dances.
