Spanish industrial insurgents Hasswut ignite an incendiary fusion with their ferocious new single, Sauerstoff. Born from Alicante’s abrasive underground in 2013, Hasswut harnesses harsh metal riffs with relentless electronic rhythms, crafting a combustible collision of defiance and dancefloor devastation.
Sauerstoff, German for oxygen, embodies the claustrophobic chokehold of anxiety and emotional entrapment, confronting the crushing pressure that grips and immobilizes. It’s a brutal yet beautiful battle cry, sung in German, against the internal wars we wage, wrapped in razor-sharp synths and pounding percussion reminiscent of Rammstein’s robust rage, Laibach’s militant machinations, and Die Krupps’ kinetic kick.
The visual assault, directed by Radikal Libre Films, seizes the senses: a frenetic fever-dream montage of spectral visions, splintered realities, and shadow-soaked paranoia. It’s a cinematic catharsis, throttling viewers through its chaotic choreography and ghostly glitches, amplifying the track’s relentless resonance.
With Sauerstoff, Hasswur throttles forward, unbridled and unapologetic, piercing the veil of oppressive emotions with incendiary intensity. A vital dose of visceral voltage for these anxious times.
