In These Dark Times of Isolation Lebanon Hanover let us know “The Last Thing” that remains…

“In these morbid times once it’s over it is over.

Looking back at your life there is basically nothing that counted more than love.”

Lebanon Hanover, featuring the immensely talented William Maybelline Larissa Iceglass, are one of the most significant duos creating music within the post-punk, goth, and darkwave scene of the past decade. Today, the pair are back with one of their best songs yet—the arresting and sorrowful dirge “The Last Thing”,

“The Last thing” is a song that evokes the ray of hope that lingers after Pandora’s Box has been opened. And this is certainly the feeling permeating the still air of silent cities and towns worldwide where human beings have never before been further apart.

“The song “The Last Thing” was written in a van from Athens to Thessaloniki, and recorded back in Athens.

We have lived in separate countries for a while and therefore we make music in tour vans, and planes—emailing each other material to work with.

The video was mostly shot 1st of March in Mannheim just before the Corona outbreak, but already in isolation.”

The song features the most haunting vocals from Larissa Iceglass to date, like a warm exhalation of light under the veil of seemingly unending darkness, standing toe to toe with the passionate work of luminaries such as Marianne Faithfull, and Velvet Underground chanteuse Nico herself.

Here is the single’s official press release:

“It is with great anticipation that we announce the release of Lebanon Hanover”s new Maxi Single titled “The Last Thing”.

Luckily, Lebanon Hanover’s “Last Thing” isn’t quite their last, but rather the first impression of a full LP to follow later this year.

Featuring two beautifully melancholic tracks, the single allows us a glimpse into LH’s private world of pure magic. Sonically the record captures at the same time, both the vulnerability and the combustible energy of the duo.

The environment remains morbidly romantic, while the distorted guitar mirror the sound of the distorted reality we live in. Lebanon Hanover once again capture the spirit of our time, the loneliness, isolation, alienation and digital anxiety of the individual, offering us the comforting acknowledgment that there is still some deeply sensitive music out there. And that should be enough even if it were the last thing remaining.”

“The Last Thing” will be released around May 30th, and is available for pre-order now at www.fabrikarecords.com

The vinyl is a strictly limited edition of 1000 hand-numbered copies in split colour Yellow and Orange vinyl.
