Standing under the spellbound moonlight
Snakes in your head when the demons rise at night
aux animaux, a visionary musician raised amid Istanbul’s layered cultural complexity, conjures echoes of darkwave’s nocturnal prophets with spectral whispers of goth cinema and esoteric mysticism. Self-taught, fiercely independent, her music throbs with the life of her theremin—an instrument she commands with sorcerous grace, shaping phantoms from unseen fields. With Void Moon, the Stockholm-based artist offers a ritualistic elegy that pulses between worlds: modern isolation and arcane sorrow entwined in her hypnotic invocation.
Void Moon is a hymn to grief, a mournful communion beneath perpetual lunar cycles. aux animaux summons loss as an eternal rite, resonating within neon-lit cities and ancient runic echoes. The piece moves in tides, a cycle of remembrance and release, binding her sorrow to California’s spectral deserts: Joshua Tree’s barren beauty, L.A.’s haunting glow. The resulting elegy radiates sincerity, its sadness rich and ritualized, an intimate monument to memory that transcends mere mourning.
Her self-made surrealist collage, adorning the single, hints cryptically at the profound connections now severed yet spiritually preserved. Mastered with careful precision by Doruk Öztürkcan (She Past Away), Void Moon feels simultaneously ethereal and tangible; a ghostly invocation spun from the depths of personal heartbreak. aux animaux emerges here as priestess and poet, her darkwave spell illuminating grief as sacred, everlasting devotion.

Since her first incantations in 2017, aux animaux has harnessed darkwave’s spectral resonance to confront social decay and intimate afflictions alike. Her initial offering, Black Holes, wielded synth-driven rebellion, tackling feminism, animal rights, and societal critique through fiercely political invocations. With Stockholm Synthrome, aux animaux expanded her sphere to reveal personal torment, laying bare her decade-long battle with misophonia through shimmering synth textures and ghostly rhythms.
Early 2022’s The Hydesville Episode arrived cloaked in horror-film atmospherics, conjuring spectral melodies and unsettling cinematic tension, further exploring aux animaux’s fascination with the occult and supernatural. By year’s end, she released Hauntology, where four original compositions were reshaped through collaborations with synth maestros like Tobias Bernstrup, Priest, Majestoluxe, and her own dark alchemy, blending cold electronics with phantasmic echoes. With her debut full-length Body Horror via Manic Depression Records, aux animaux summoned her most visceral conjuration yet.
After years spent sharing stages alongside genre titans such as She Past Away, Then Comes Silence, The Soft Moon, Kontravoid, and DAF, aux animaux stands poised at the pinnacle of her shadow-lit art, channeling her inner demons into profound, eerie beauty.
