With an aura of dreamy introspection, Janosch Moldau has etched his name as a resilient and indomitable force on the electronic dance floors. Over the years, the German artist has cultivated a devoted following with his signature blend of melancholy, perfectly encapsulated in addictive hooks and melodies reminiscent of the likes of Depeche Mode, The Cure, and Red Flag.
Despite the dire state of the music industry, Janosch Moldau remains undaunted and has emerged from the shadows once again to release a new single, accompanied by a cryptic DIY video: “This Is My Show.” The ‘enfant terrible of synth-pop’ seemingly earns his reputation with this latest offering, as he and a mysterious accomplice storm a junkyard, pounding a lifeless Volkswagen with sledgehammers. Is it a protest against capitalism, an acknowledgment of historical alliances with evil? Or is it simply a cathartic release of pent-up frustration?
Watch the madness below:
“This Is My Show” is taken from Janosch Moldau’s new EP, “Aid and Abet,” slated for release via The Orchard/New York. The album was recorded in the idyllic setting of Lake Lugano in Italy, a place where the musician has made his creative sanctuary.
Within the last 15 years, the musician has published five studio albums, two remix albums, many singles, and remix EPs and has toured throughout Europe, the US, and in Russia with numerous stars of the electronic-pop scene. His third album, ‘Lovestar,’ expanded his committed fan base. The music clip with the same name as the album was presented exclusively on the music channel MTV/VIVA.
