Gary Numan Announces 40th Anniversary (R)evolution Tour

Synth Luminary Gary Numan has announced 40th Anniversary (R)evolution Tour this autumn, to celebrate the jubilee of 4 decades since the singer embarked on his first UK tour.

In a statement on twitter Numan had stated:

In Sep 1979 I began my first ever tour around the UK. I’ll be celebrating the 40 years of life, career and touring that have unfolded since then this Sep/Oct with the (R)evolution Tour. Tickets on sale Friday April 12th, 10am

Gary Numan has released 20 studio albums over the course of his career, starting with his debut with Tubeway Army in 1978, up until his most recent release 2017’s Savage (Songs from a Broken World).

It was not until the release of Tubeway Army’s concept album Replicas in April of 1979 however, that Numan developed his signature synth-pop sound showcased on his first hit single “Are Friends Electric”.

On the set list for the upcoming tour, Numan stated:

“I should probably point out that I hope to play at least one song from almost every album I’ve ever made. Almost.”
