The Berlin-based Fringe Society (one-half of Russian Chandeliers) is a blend of several genres. From disco and new beat to minimal synth and movie score, the producer’s newest track on the Samo Records VA is a concoction of these. The groovy tempo coincides with a guitar solo and Balearic synth lines, making it a great addition to a Ancienne Belgique-inspired playlist.
Samo Records, based out of New York City, is known for their off-kilter dance tracks. Out on digital October 18th and limited CD September 20th, the Various Artists – Sphere compilation features a slew of artists from all over the world. Label owner Boris Knez says:
Samo Records decided to do a compilation for their next release, they asked some of their favorites artists to provide an original track. The outcome has been as intended, a good mix of styles, each providing their own individual blend. Happy to welcome Fringe Society (Wrong Era), Mijo (Correspondant), Neud Photo (Rat Life), Skelesys (Ombra International), Macaulay (Wonder Stories), Balam (ESTHÉTIQUE), Tassilo Vanhœfen (Kontakt Group), Uninc & Kolomensky (ИДА), Alpha & Necromante (Aperitif de la Mort), Spivak (Nutty Wombat Records) and returning artist Pixelife to the label.
