French Synth Act Minuit Machine Returns With the Video for Their Resilient New Single “Hold Me”

They way they tore me apart
Like I’m a corpse they wanna ditch
They way they sold me for parts
Like I’m some toy they didn’t need

There is a fierce, radiant dignity in defiance, a raw and unyielding spirit that refuses to bow to the forces of manipulation or the jagged scars of abuse. For the queer soul, resilience becomes a birthright, rising like a shimmering banner against a world that has too often sought to diminish, erase, or shame. To be torn down, to be objectified—these are wounds inflicted by systems that fear authenticity. Yet, in the face of such cruelty, there blooms a unique fire, burning with the refusal to carry the weight of imposed shame or to accept silence as fate. Instead, it speaks in all its colors, it stands unapologetically, it claims a freedom both tender and fierce—a radiant declaration that existence is resistance, love is liberation, and truth is undeniable.

HOLD ME, the latest offering from France’s Minuit Machine, stands as a fierce homage to the queer community, a celebration of liberation from societal chains and patriarchal binds. Now Amandine Stioui’s deeply personal solo project, the track melds blistering vocals, ethereal synths, and relentless techno beats to summon a storm of human emotion: defiance, yearning, and a glimmer of hope. Collaborating with RAUMM, Stioui shapes a visceral, magnetic piece—one that pulses with nostalgia while surging with present-day urgency. Its taut rhythms beckon dancers to its relentless embrace, while beneath the surface lie whispers of vulnerability and triumph.

HOLD ME roars with defiance, rejecting shame and silencing, transforming objectification into an anthem of resilience. It seeks solace, a release from wounds inflicted by others, and an embrace strong enough to wash away lies. Pride and rebellion shine in this dance floor anthem, defying the darkness with unflinching light.

Manon Dupeyra’s visualizer is a quiet yet curious tableau: Stioui in a stark blue room, clutching a circuit board like an enigmatic artifact. The image, stripped yet striking, hints at the inescapable grip of technology on human intimacy and identity.

HOLD ME sets the tone for the upcoming album: a work that embraces more pop sounds and oscillates between light and darkness, introspection, and self-assertion. Listen to HOLD ME below and order the song on Bandcamp or on any of your preferred streaming services here.

Minuit Machine’s early phase, between 2013 and 2015, yielded two albums. After a three-year respite, the duo recommenced their journey, their third album INFRAROUGE. Their groundbreaking EP Don’t Run From The Fire marked a turning point, demonstrating their deft blend of EBM, dark wave, and techno. Released during lockdown alongside a viral livestream, it played a pivotal role in catapulting their career. They later released the LP 24, shedding their darkwave skin to explore a medley of electro-pop and high-energy tech influences, marked by daring compositions, compelling instrumental layers, catchy beats, and unforgettable vocal lines. In December 2022, Hélène, due to health concerns, decided to take a step back.
