French darkwave outfit Order 89 is roaring back with the high-energy dance anthem Vertige (Vertigo), the second video off their second album, L’Eté des Corbeaux (Summer of the Crows). Vertige is a frenetic, lurching song, distilling dark poetry with a mischievous post-punk electro rhythm. This single follows on the clicking heels of April 2021’s Gangster.
The video, directed by Navire Argo, explores the concept of vertigo with a dazzling psychedelic kaleidoscope of a performance video, disorienting the viewer and yanking the bass-driven track into a smorgasbord of pure cosmic expansion.
Order 89 draws their energy from “love and violence.” The band is planning a tour throughout France in mid-July of this year, already stacking Paris, Rennes, and Nantes on their plates. “We are looking for more gigs in Europe and are ready for that,” the band eagerly adds.
