German post-punk act Baical are back with their heartrending new single “Cupids Arrow”, and the video for the song which utilizes a subtle and far from a hamfisted visual metaphor on the weakness of flesh against the wounds inflicted from a condition which the ancient world referred to as the curse of eros.
As Oscar Wilde once said: “The Mystery of Love is Greater than the Mystery of Death.”
Of the song, Baical explains:
Cupids Arrow is about desire. Even if you try to avoid it, it will always drag you into its maelstrom. Shattered relationships follow each other. You know in what absurd direction you are heading but you’re under loves spell. In this song, cupid is a hunter who shoots people for pure joy. To push them into a disaster. Again and again.
“Devoted to a liar, swamped motionless but romance burns like fire.”

Baical’s Cupid’s Arrow is a stand-alone single, following the release of last year’s War Scene, and their debut EP Euphoria.
As well as scheduling live appearances, the band are also working on their debut album which is to be released in 2020.
