Everything’s so bright in this evening light
I do remember now why I can’t hold you anymore
Fernando Honorato (Principe Valiente) steps into softer focus with his latest solo release: Center of Your World, the title track and second single from his upcoming debut album. Where his earlier effort leaned into sleek electronics, this one breathes deeper.
The song is a slow spin through yearning. A late-day glow settles over lines that orbit a single desire: to be held closer, seen clearer, placed in the middle rather than the margins. The plea drifts, repeats, settles like dust in a quiet room. Honorato’s baritone, equal parts Bowie and Murphy, carries weight without theatrics. It trembles where others would roar. Live drums by Johan Efraimsson, first beat-keeper for Principe Valiente, anchor the piece with patient pacing, while chiming guitars and muted keys hover like dusk just before dark.
Center of Your World feels like a slow exhale; a request sent into still air. There is no promise of reply, just the quiet dignity of asking over and over until the echo returns. Lovers of Principe Valiente, The Cure, and Motorama will find familiar fingerprints here, though Honorato’s version comes stripped of gloss. No fireworks, no fanfare. Just a looped ache, circling its own gravity, chasing an emotional center that stays just out of reach.
The lovely performance video, directed by Damón Zurawski of Future Legends Films, is as intense as the arrangement, showcasing Honorato’s showmanship.
