Dutch Coldwave Duo Robby’s Song Debut “Ga Weg”

The Netherlands is where coldwave duo Robby’s Song calls home, and after seven months of existence, and following their debut LP Hetzelfde Ziel, they are unleashing their latest single. “Ga Weg” was created using an old DR110 for the drums and minimalistic guitar and bass.

In this mysterious track, an atonal wail hovers over fuzz guitar and dark bass, the howl of a poltergeist just before a streak of mischief. “Ga weg” means “go away” in Dutch, and its meaning certainly transcends the language barrier. This is a track to blare when you just want some time to yourself. Ghosts be damned.

“Everything we do has been recorded at home in my bedroom, we also use it for rehearsal,” says the band. “Lots of the lyric inspiration comes from daily life, fantasies, movies, etc. Ga Weg is basically pure loathing of “normal” daily life, but you can…make it about anything you want.”

With similarities to Clan of Xymox, London After Midnight, and The Danse Society, Robby’s Song strips things down to pure raw emotion with “Ga Weg”, keeping it simple but effective.

An intriguing new track seemingly plucked from the ether or the veiled hallows of limbo. Listen to “Ga Weg” below:
