Drift. returns with the poppy minimal synth of ‘Social Front’

Nathalia Bruno’s solo project Drift. is premiering another track off of her second EP Genderland—the poppy minimal synth of ‘Social Front’.

With the first single bearing the EP title’s name being a dubby lo-fi strong lateral step in style and sound from her debut EP Black Devotion,  Social Front has a warm and familiar sound that is unlike anything currently out there—maintaining a strong link to minimal synth and new-wave with a style that matches  cold-wave bands of the 1980s, or more specifically being influenced by post-punk performance artist and No Wave singer Lizzy Mercier Descloux.

Social Front, is one track of six on the Genderland EP  dealing with the subject matter of failed relationships, gender, female empowerment, and standing against racism, homophobia, and the patriarchy.

“The best music is unsettling. The worst is when it washes over the listener. I want my songs
to jolt them into paying attention. But also to seduce them with melody. I’m not ashamed of
pop music. This is pop.”

Genderland is out now.
