Dreamy Debut Album “All We Need” from Aerolinea a Pan-American Stellar Affair

Aerolinea is the creation of Argentinian artist Victoria Real and Eric Weissinger of Atlanta’s dream-gaze duo I Am a Rocketship. Both songwriters, singers, and multi-instrumentalists, their journey began in April 2023 with an Instagram message that set a transcontinental partnership into motion.

Now Aerolinea soars with Nervous and What Moves You, their debut offerings previewing their forthcoming All We Need album. Aerolina’s sound pulses with purpose, bolstered by Failure drummer Kellii Scott, whose sharp rhythms bring bite to their bittersweet blend. Echoes of Portishead’s moody edges, the Cocteau Twins’ lush layers, Chelsea Wolfe’s drama, and PJ Harvey’s raw power, resonate throughout this stunning collection.

Victoria Real sharpened her craft under the watchful eye of King Crimson’s Robert Fripp, first as a disciple in Guitar Craft and later as a performer with the League of Crafty Guitarists. Her four solo albums, with a fifth in the works, shimmer with her skill.  Eric Weissinger, the driving force behind five albums and an EP with I Am a Rocketship, once anchored Anne Richmond Boston’s band with his bass. He has shared stages with The Black Crowes, James, The Wedding Present, and more.

Over a year of file-sharing and in-person sessions in Florida and Argentina, the duo wove their influences into a sound both intimate and expansive. Their connection traces back to a serendipitous meeting at the NMER Music Festival during the pandemic, a moment that sparked the roots of what has become Aerolinea—an act defined by its chemistry, creativity, and boundless collaboration.

Nervous begins with a lone guitar line, a heartbeat of kick and snare tapping underneath, until a jagged, distorted riff tears through the quiet. The verses sung in duet, restrained and reflective, unravel into a soaring chorus, with voices intertwined in unison. By its end, chaotic guitars and echoing vocals collide, leaving the listener adrift in its restless energy.

”Nervous is a different way of describing feeling alone,” says Weissinger. “We need connections, and when you’re missing a connection, you start to doubt yourself, and not feel complete. You worry. The song is more about the subject’s emotions, and you don’t know anything about who they miss.”

The song hums with a raw ache, a portrait of longing that gnaws and lingers. Restless days and sleepless nights coil into a knot of tension, each moment a countdown to connection. Guitars glide and crash, rhythms groove and stutter, reflecting the push and pull of desire and anxiety. Aerolinea shapes a sound for dreamers and drifters, for those who wander through sleepless hours in search of solace, the kind of music that feels like a midnight drive through the vast unknown.

“Nervous is the feeling we wanted to express here,” adds Real. “Like a hunch that something is out of place. We put music and lyrics to it to evoke that feeling and thereby also evoke instant relief when expressed and channeled in this song”.

What Moves You grapples with the tension between closeness and distance, longing and freedom. They trace the ache of someone torn between staying and leaving, where intimacy feels suffocating yet absence unbearable. One struggles to hold on as another seeks to escape, yearning for connection while watching them soar away. It’s a bittersweet meditation on love, loss, and the cost of freedom.
