Alternative rock infused post-punk ensemble Object of Affection have unveiled their video for “Burning Light”. The band is a new project from members of hardcore groups Fury and Lock, post-punk outfit Death Bells, and psych-rock act Leather Slave.
“Burning Light” highlights the Object of Affection’s creative songwriting, taking cues from mainstays of 80’s post-punk and new wave scenes, as well as the daydreaming romanticism of early 90s alternative rock. Here, the band carves out a unique, yet nostalgic sound that is very much their own.
The video for “Burning Light” also showcases the talents of LA-based director, and Temple of Angel’s vocalist Bre Morell, who also previously directed Death Bell’s video for “A Different Kind of Happy.” Primarily using an early 00’s Hi-8 camera cut with beautiful 8mm film, the colorful and grainy footage captures the same energy and distinctive style that Morell is quickly becoming known for.
