Dreampunk Act Seasurfer Debuts Video for “Jump To The Stars” Featuring Ricardo Silva Veloso

Seasurfer mastermind Dirk Knight continues on his musical path with a soaring new single, “Jump To The Stars.” The new offering from the Hamburg outfit comes with two A-sides, a post-punk dancer, and a noise-pop indie-hit. This time, we hear vocals from Portuguese producer and songwriter Ricardo Silva Veloso.

“The song connects the heritage of post-punk with the present, and the sonic symbiosis is, in my opinion, just perfect,” says Veloso. “The dynamic between different people with different opinions is the theme presented in the lyrics; it describes a perspective one should have about the world and the way it evolved to the standards we’re living in now.”

“I enjoy working with different singers, getting inspiration, and being in touch with new and international musicians,” says Knight. ‘This is an engine for the creative process, and also makes sure that I don’t stand still and get bored with myself. Ricardo sings totally relaxed and cool, and he fits so well!”

“Jump To The Stars” features a kaleidoscopic, acid-tinged performance video, a collaboration between director Jean De Oliveira and cinematography by Christian Klepp and Henrique Ferreira.

Seasurfer plans to release three more singles with more new singers within the next year, including German-Brazilian singer and actress Gloria de Oliveira, Stereoskop singer Susana from Spain, and Laura (Grundeis).

He has shared the stage with Momus, Ulrich Schnauss, and Hante. Dirk Knight fronted the ethereal dream pop band DARK ORANGE in the 90s and started SEASURFER in 2013. Knight also collaborated with Robin Guthrie (Cocteau Twins) and John Fryer (4AD, Mute Records, This Mortal Coil).
