Kennedy Ashlyn via her solo project SRSQ has followed up its 2018’s dream-pop masterpiece Unreality with the fantastic new single “Temporal Love”, a plaintive dirge evoking all the emotional intensity of heartbreak and a relationship that has fallen apart.
“Kissing you once more could not erase the time, wishing it was the same as it ever was…”
Kennedy’s virtually unparalleled soprano is accompanied by True Body vocalist Isabel Moreno, who augments the wistful longing on the track to nearly Leonard Cohen levels.
“Temporal Love” highlights even greater artistic growth and potential from SRSQ, underscoring how Kennedy has risen like a phoenix from ashes of losing the loss of her musical partner Cashew Askew from her band Them Are Us too, which led to the abbreviated release of their planned second studio album with last years Amends.
The B-side, “Unkept“ is also formidable in its own right, sounding like a classic 4AD chimera of Dead Can Dance and Cocteau Twins—altogether softening the blow from the harrowing and heart-rending A-Side like an ethereal songbird wrapped in plumed reverb.

Temporal Love b/w Unkept was produced by Kennedy Ashlyn, mixed by Jorge Elbrecht and mastered by Josh Bonati. The single comes packaged in a pocket sleeve with the insert designed by Nathaniel Young featuring photography by Jess Garten.
