Allow yourself to be ensconced within the revered reverb realm of Cathedral Bells, a place where familiarity entwines with novelty, where luminosity is shrouded in twilight, and where the frenetic pace of life surrenders to an all-encompassing tranquility. With their effervescent new single “Better Half,” Messore composes melancholic dream-pop and celestial shoegaze, conjuring an ever-shifting, kaleidoscopic dance of propulsive rhythms, shimmering, diaphanous guitars, sumptuous synth waves, and an intoxicatingly vaporous vocal embrace.
Emerging from the nebulous domain of dream pop, “Better Half” strikes with a potent shoegaze undertone and a mood reminiscent of The Cure’s evocative romanticism and irresistible pop magnetism. However, Messore and crew infuse the track with an abundance of warm colors, weaving in ethereal instrumentation and casting the song’s ambiance beneath the dimming glow of twilight. The composition unfurls into an expansive, pulsating universe of atmospheric shoegaze, a sonic landscape seemingly conjured from the very ether. The lush, nostalgic resonance of Real Estate and Beach Fossils can be discerned, as well as the influences of Chapterhouse and My Bloody Valentine.

Arising from the sun-kissed haze of Orlando, Florida, a transcendent symphony of sound has been delicately assembled within the intimate sanctum of a bedroom studio, giving birth to Cathedral Bells. This auditory metamorphosis began in the year 2018, with Matt Messore as its guiding visionary. In time, the ethereal ensemble expanded, embracing the talents of Griffin Marthe, Miguel Pais, and Jordan Bermudez.
Cathedral Bells are also set to go on tour along the East Coast this summer:
