Bay Area shoegazers Topographies are premiering with us today the beautiful noise in both sound and vision showcased in their shimmering purple tinged video for the psychedelic track “Roman Figure”.
The song is the b-side to a-side “Pink Thoughts”—with both being released as the self titled Topographies 7 inch single, which is out today marking the band’s official debut release.
The EP was recorded and produced at New, Improved Recording in Oakland, California by Alexis Berthelot (Gojira, Wolfgang Tillmans, Enablers) in late 2017.
The EP also features singer/guitarist Gray Tolhurst (son of another famous Tolhurst), who has been making a name for himself in the Bay Area for his work with psychedelic rock band Coo Coo Birds, the dark folk released under his own name, and now the sonic exhalation of effects pedals and mesmerizing guitar riffs that is Topographies.
