the winds whisper to me
I think I know where to go
but something’s following me
I gotta get there soon
Dream Bodies, a new nocturnal-tinged excursion from Steven Fleet (Magic Wands, VV and the Void, Night Nail, Boytronic), drifts dreamily like stars reflected through deep pools of darkwave, dreampop, and post-punk. Shades summoned from The Sisters of Mercy mingle moodily with Cocteau Twins’ cathedral-esque sighs, Chameleons’ chimerical melodies, and echoes etched from early Clan of Xymox and Joy Division.
The new second single from Dream Bodies, Eclipse, charges headlong and heedless, vibrant old-school post-punk guitars quivering chorused psychedelic charms atop bass-synth bubbles bursting briskly beneath. Drums dash forward in Krautrock cadence, swift, sure-footed, beneath spectral and silken synth strains that shudder and flutter, soaring to cosmic prog heights. The music moves moonlit and mysterious, racing relentlessly onward like midnight winds through empty avenues. Eclipse’s essence enchants, elusive yet electric, an entrancing initiation in rhythms rushing and relentless, evoking images of open-road journeys beneath star-sown skies. Fleet’s fertile imagination flourishes here, swiftly sweeping listeners into worlds strange, stirring sensations deep and dreamlike, destined to dissolve in delicious darkness.
In a wilderness illuminated by the night, a haunting melody beckons, thrusting an unsuspecting soul into a realm of strangeness. Disoriented and uncertain of their origins, they flee from the weight of expectations, pursued by enigmatic whispers that echo through the shadows. Enigmatic rituals and spectral metamorphoses unfold, pulling the wayward pilgrim into the depths of latent power and profound insight. They call forth a cosmic communion, an elemental dread, and a transformation akin to racing through the infinite night, a convertible roaring beneath a tapestry of stars, hair tossed by the moonlit breeze as one pushes forward toward elusive horizons and unfathomable mysteries. The journey is endless, tethered by birthright, as the seeker strives to uncover uncertain truths within an ancient initiation, always teetering on the edge of revelation.

In the past, with his other musical projects, Fleet has has toured the US/Europe and shared stages with the likes of Chameleons.
