Latvian Producer Dmitry Distant has teamed up with Arnaud Lazlaud for the fourth release on the former’sElectronic Leatherette. This forthcoming 12-inch wax is brimming with vintage minimal synth and new-wave sounds, courtesy of two musicians who are passionate about hardware synthesizers, samplers, and drum machines.
The resulting track “De ton Absence” is a spinetingling foray into darkness and beauty augmented by the sensuous vocals of Arnaud Lazlaud, aka Xavier Paradis, the French Canadian based producer, and singer who is better known by his Automelodi project.
Of the track, the Distant and Lazlaud explain:
“De ton absence” is about how one person dearly missed someone in the midst of a specific memory in which that person was absent…while also that this particular memory was somehow pleasant.
It is a mirror effect in evocation of memories versus a general sense of longing, and the existential appreciation of that longing feeling.”
