Dive Deep into the Haunting Melody of Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys “The Ocean at Night”

Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys have lowered the veil on their first spellbinding release from the band’s forthcoming LP Sleeping Tapes for Some Girls, a slow-burning dreamscape album that promises to be a companion for difficult evenings and lullabies for the restless.

The new song “The Ocean at Night” is a dive deeply into its lonely introspection, written as a deceptively simple composition with its languid acoustic guitars, the haunting vocal presence breaks the silence in uncanny reverie.

The video for “The Ocean at Night” was filmed and created by Lucy Hazard in Kalk Bay in Cape Town, South Africa and explores the need for the unknown.

Watch the video below:

Sleeping Tapes for Some Girls is a follow up to Lucy Kruger’s first full length, Summer’s Not That Simple and was recorded just before Lucy moved from Cape Town to Berlin in May of last year. She had been quietly spinning a soft web of songs and wanted to capture the feeling before leaving.

Lucy has indicated that the record was made with a very specific listener in mind. For the last few years, she had gone to bed listening to the stories and sounds of songwriters that have become close companions, both challenging and nurturing her and eventually gifting her rest. She wanted to give something of the same to those who might need it.

Sleeping Tapes for Some Girls is set for release later this year.

Meanwhile, Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys will be playing live at 8MM Bar in Berlin on Saturday the 20th of April.
