Depeche Mode Unveils Shadowy Industrial Synth Dirge as Album Opener from “Memento Mori” – “My Cosmos Is Mine”

Depeche Mode has emerged from the shadows with a haunting new dystopian dirge, “My Cosmos Is Mine,” a glimpse into their upcoming album, Memento Mori. Reminiscent of their Songs of Faith and Devotion and Ultra eras, this plodding track is dripping with emotion and angst, a sign of the times with Gahan’s plea for justice and universal peace.

Dave Gahan’s vocals emerge, exuding a ghostly reverb, like the echo of a voice from beyond the grave, as the track’s foundation is laid with a series of ominous, distant drums that creep in slowly.
