Washington, DC’s S Y Z Y G Y X summons celestial alignment from the depths of DC’s digital underground, where Luna Blanc steers the project through pulsar beats and sharp-edged synth lines, hurtling across minor scales. Formed in 2018, the solo venture blurs genre boundaries album by album, riding soundwaves through electro pop vistas to neon-lit apocalyptic wastelands. Here, the unknown ‘X’ becomes the quest itself: life’s elusive question murmured through metallic pulses.
S Y Z Y G Y X’s latest single, Climax, thrums with kinetic clarity: a track designed for bodies in orbit. Not mere club escapism, but an ecstatic embrace of rhythm as remedy, be it solitary spins across kitchen floors watched by indifferent felines, or a crowded dance floor exorcism, sweat-soaked and self-assured. It’s an ode to joyful movement, cathartic and cosmic.
In Blanc’s hands, sound and sensation align like celestial bodies in syzygy, generating musical gravity from friction and fusion alike. Here the dance is everything: joy, hurt, healing; a cycle spun endlessly, eternally, euphorically onward.
A lurch through late-night limbo, Eduardo Lovo’s DIY video for Climax drags us, bleary-eyed, through the drifting hours where intention evaporates and instinct takes the reins. It’s the low-lit liturgy of the lost weekend: swigs from warm bottles, a clumsy communion of chain smoking and sodium glow, concrete catwalks above the city’s veins, whispered confessions to gravestones.
Here, nothing becomes everything. The absence of agenda becomes its own pilgrimage. Each staggered step carries the weight of missed calls, half-formed thoughts, and the low hum of a heart syncing to the rhythm of passing cars. Pre-gaming becomes prophecy, wandering becomes ritual, and aimlessness becomes anchor. In this twilight stretch, silence is never empty…it’s electric, waiting, wide. A reminder that doing nothing invites everything. This isn’t nightlife, it’s life, lit sideways, and seen slant.

S Y Z Y G Y X might be Luna Blanc’s solo studio creation, but onstage, it manifests as a two-piece tempest. Alongside Corey: partner in life, crime, and collapse – Luna transforms her nocturnal visions into visceral live rituals. The duo has toured extensively across the U.S., Canada, Central America, and Europe, including a coveted appearance at Leipzig’s Wave Gotik Treffen in 2022. The project debuted in 2018 with an EP via Cleopatra Records, followed by a string of releases culminating in the 2019 LP Fading Bodies (Negative Gain/Cold Transmission) and 2021’s [Im]mortal. June 2020’s single Cold Touch offered a bridge: icy and immediate.
After a brief creative hiatus to write new material, Luna is poised to return with SINNER, a new album due August 2025. European stages will again tremble beneath S Y Z Y G Y X’s footfall from mid-August through early September.
Now, with SINNER, Luna reawakens the machine.
