In the above photo taken in the autumn of 2018, we see David Hasselhoff photographed together with Al Jourgensen of Ministry.
The unlikely pairing was the result Jourgensen, together with DJ Swamp, recording a remix of Hasselhoff’s cover version of the Neil Diamond song Sweet Caroline.
Despite the collaboration having yet to emerge, the former Knight Rider star has shown that this was not a joke.
“I’m doing some heavy metal songs on my new album,” Hasselhoff told German news site Zeit. “Why not? I do not have an album title yet, but it should read: ‘Everything is allowed.’ I do everything. Because I can. Because I want it.”
Hasselhoff, being no stranger to post-punk, famously covered David Bowie’s “Heroes” during the taking down of the Berlin Wall. Not only that, also had none other than New Order perform their 1993 single “Regret” on his hit television series Baywatch.
Recently, producer Adam Hamilton shared a Facebook video showing Hasselhoff covering cover of “Lips Like Sugar” by Echo & The Bunnymen, adding that that he and The Hoff have plans to record The Jesus and Mary Chains “Head On” soon as well (see live version at the bottom of this article).

The tracklist for Hasselhoff’s upcoming album remains to be seen, but from the looks of it, the release, scheduled for June of 2019, is going to going to span a variety of genres in addition to metal and post-punk.
UPDATE: David Hasselhoff performed The Jesus and Mary Chain’s “Head On” live at Fonda Theatre in Hollywood on Oct. 12th 2018.
