Darkwave Duo Meldamor Brandish Swords in their Video for “Never Go Back”

“A love story made from a harsh morality. A rose grown from a dark reality.”

Brandishing swords in leather trench coats, Meldamor debuts their video for the intense “Never Go Back”, the title track from their forthcoming second studio album.

Dave and Mel Parley began making music in Phoenix, Arizona. Dave Parley, a native of Tijuana, is a multi-instrumentalist and notable music producer. Much of Mel’s lyrical inspiration for lyrics comes from the gamut of human emotions: love, anger, uncertainty, despair. Indeed, the cinematic video depicts two people ready to confront their demons and fight for their autonomy.

They created their debut album, 2019’s Esperanza y Dolor, a dark synth post-punk compilation in the Spanish language. The duo are currently working on the album Never Go Back, which they describe as “aggressive, with dark danceable beats.”

As for the forthcoming new album’s title track, “the song is about forgetting the past and moving forward,” says the band. “Do not let what has attempted to destroy you consume you, but allow yourself to consume it.”

Meldamor are set to perform in Palm Springs this Saturday, February 4th, with Forever Grey.
