Cold Choir, an electro/darkwave duo from North Carolina, captivates with their poetic, evocative lyrics and a vocal delivery that melds sensuality with moody intensity. Their music is characterized by a powerful and nuanced execution, showcasing a broad range of influences. Their roots in 90s Miami, amidst a vibrant mix of club sounds, from electro and freestyle to darkwave and techno, have shaped their approach to music. This background has lent their work a fluid, evolving quality, free from the constraints of genre, yet drawing comparisons to acts like Fee Lion, Cabaret Nocturne, and Hante’s blend of coldwave and synthpop.
Franky and Rio felt the need to challenge themselves, both musically and creatively, resulting in their second album Velvet Surrender, incorporating Spanish into their lyrics, innovating beats, and pushing the boundaries of post-punk. Now they announce a hypnotic remix album of Velvet Surrender, featuring Blood Handsome, Chains of Desire, Kiss of The Whip, and more.
