Darkwave act Astari Nite have unveiled their video for “Paint the Stars Tonight”, a track of Off their new album “Here Lies”.
The music video plays on the heartstrings of an ’80s-’90s underground film aesthetic. It finds vocalist Mychael, choosing between which immortal is more superior. “Paint the Stars Tonight”, is a nostalgic journey that highlights a simpler time in life when Dungeons & Dragons, toys, video games, a summer sleepover, and most of all finding out that falling in love meant everything. The video features the international fetish model Val Vampyre.
As vocalist Mychael explains on Director Freyja Lilith’s vision for the video:
“Lilith (the director) continues to elegantly interpret our songs to tell her own story through film which is terrifying to me. Of course, it has to do with how powerful her spirit is deep within. How she captures me crying and makes it look like I’m smiling will always be a mystery.”

Astari Nite crosses an obscure mix between gothic rock and post-punk, exploring themes of death, love and the occult.
Their debut studio album Midnight Conversations was released in May of 2018 which was produced by Tom Shear of Assemblage 23. These songs found heavy rotation on various streaming platforms with DJ’s spinning timeless tracks such as Lovesick, Sunday Queen, Rosary Society, Unfulfilled Promise, and their version of Voices Carry by ’Til Tuesday.
Having performed alongside acts such as Peter Murphy, The Damned, Psychedelic Furs, Cold Cave, Vowws, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Modern English, and more, they have established themselves as contemporaries of the post-punk/gothic rock scene.
Astari Nite’s more recent album, Here Lies, was released in May of this year on Negative Gain.
